hello hello

jdsmith is my hero

Welcome back mrgreenapple. I look forward to hearing your news when you surface from the chaos of reorgy week!

Helloooooooo Mr. G!!! Glad to see ya!

mrgreenapple,

Welcome back from Beast! How does this compare to being in the Army?

mrgreenapple, you're too nice to me sometimes...

Man it's been a pretty busy week, and probably will be for the next long time. So I doubt that I'll be spending too much time posting anything. I'll try and pass on any helpful info people are looking for though.

Beast:different than basic training. Not going to go into details about anything, but I will say that I think at the end of the summer my class for the most part could have entered the Army at the same level of proficiency as Privates out of BCT.

Boots: The "commercial" boots that everyone spent so much time talking about were authorized the whole summer. I don't even think the cadre knew there was a difference. I now own 4 pairs of tan combat boots haha.

My unit is doing fine in Iraq right now. Last time I had contact with my friend, they were in Baghdad with one injury from a accident. Torn feelings. jdsmith206 is the freakin man and is swoll.

Oh, I forgot to mention something else about wp. Somehow this place has managed to defy the laws of physics and requires you to go uphill no matter where you're going. same for the trip back. "prepare for running up hills" doesnt give enough credit to this place. Did drop my runtime a ton though.

mrgreenapple, you are so right about the hills!! We stayed at the Thayer for R-Day and the next morning I eagerly set out for a run around WP. I thought I was lost because I couldn't find a way "back down"!
Amazing. But you are right, very good training.
Good luck with classes

i highly suggest buying "commercial" or whatever boots back home and just breaking them in like crazy....i literally wore one pair all summer b/c my other pair sucked....
