<p>If it’s a 1300/1600, you’re probably in. I know people with similar states get into mid-tier UC’s.</p>
<p>But if I recall correctly, the Californian public school system actually looks at your writing score (probably the only people who do).</p>

I had a friend who got into nortridge and fullerton with a 1200 (/2400) and 2.8</p>

<p>If you’re in the local draw area for Fullerton, you’re the first ones admitted if you’re Cal State eligible. Applicants from outside the local draw area are chosen after that. Long Beach works like that, too. (CSF and CSULB are impacted at the first time freshman level.) So you’ll see varying eligibility index numbers that ended up admitted, depending on if kids were from those areas’ local high schools or not. I don’t know about LA or Northridge.</p>
