well its time for me to start seriously thinking about where to apply and i need some help. i want to stay around the east coast and these were some of the schools i was thinking of....uva, umich, northwestern, nyu, upenn. a lot of them are reaches for me though. any idea for some safeties that are still good schools?
about me - 3.93 unweighted gpa, pretty much all honors and AP
should graduate with like 6 ap's, all 4s and 5's.
member of a bunch of clubs (sga, drama, pep), varsity cheer captain of 2 yrs.
sat's like - 1360, hoping to break 1400, or 2100 on the new scale with my scores from the spring

i have similar stats (but with more aps). with your choice of colleges, i think that you are a strong applicant for these schools. i also recommend applying to Duke.

we need more than stats. What are you looking for in a school

the schools you're aiming at are about right, I wouldnt be surprised if you got into all of them. just dont get caught without safeties, just in case. at my school there are alot of people that seem to have overestimated their strength as applicants. but a smart cheerleader? thats a nice hook right there, dont see alot of em. (actually jk, we sent a cheerleading captain last year to upenn)

def break 1400 on the SAT though.

i want a medium sized school that is well respected, well-known and has a good reputation academically. i want a school that is fairly selective and just a tier below ivy. ideally, i would like to go to the hardest school i can get into and will also love. i want campuses that are fun and active, and either in or nearby a great city or its own great college town.

but what are your interests? politics? engineering? med? economics? philosophy?

journalism, communications, public relations/marketing, public health. im not exactly sure but somewhere around there.

Go for JMU!

look at vanderbilt, georgetown, wake forest, and boston college . . . all good schools that you'd most likely get into

BC is over-rated, not in same category of Wake or Gtown. Other very good schools are Colgate, Holy Cross, or Bucknell.
