Right now I am going into my senior year and my top choices for college are Duke, Columbia, UPenn, and Cornell. I am ranked 4th in my class, and have taken a very difficult schedule. I have pretty good extracurriculars, president of a couple things, chorus, sports, I'm pretty well-rounded. I have a 2230 on the sat (750 CR 700 M 780 W) with 740 on math II and 720 on US History. I have a 31 on the act (29 E 34 M 30 R 31 S) and 5's on english and us history ap tests. How do you think I stand a chance at these schools? I'm pretty sure I'm applying to Duke early decision and I'm going to major in economics (focusing on finace). Thanks for your help! :)

fourth out of how many?
how many APs total counting senior year?

Ivies are always a mystery, but you’re well rounded it seems and probably have an OK shot at those 4. I really hope you have several safeties though, just in case.

yes, I definitely have safeties. I’m also considering fordham, villanova and rutgers because I’m from NJ. There are about 200 people in my class and I am ranked 4th. My school doesn’t have a lot of ap courses and my junior year was the first time I could take any, and I took two. Senior year I’ll be taking 3 more

But for the most part, I’m taking one of the hardest possible schedules in my school

Looch

Your SATs and Grades/Rank look competitive for any of those schools. However, admissions rates are so low that no one is a safe bet there. With your numbers, definately apply (finding one or two more peer schools wouldn’t be a bad idea – it’s really a numbers game).

Your safeties are definitely that. You can probably find a school or two at a between the safeties and the regular schools.

I note that your SAT scores correlate to a 33 or 34 on the ACT. So you may want to consider whether you want to even send the actual ACT.

well I feel like the only reason I’m sending the ACT at this point is for the math score. math is really my thing, but I was not able to show that on the sat and was in the 99th percentile on ACT
