I want the traditional college experience, with a beautiful campus, sporting events, a social life, but along with rigorous academics. Opinions please!!

*I will be applying for loans no matter what so my budget isn’t too important. *

oh lordy…you have a lot to learn about the student loan process. YOU can’t borrow much . YOU can only borrow $5500 for frosh year.

To borrow more (bad idea) every year you would need QUALIFIED co-signers. Many/most parents will not co-sign large loans because they’re legally obligated to pay them back if you don’t/can’t pay them. And, each year a parent co-signs, his credit is damaged, so he may not qualify for a later year.

You can’t have a cavalier attitude about cost with the naive notion that you can just borrow your way thru. You can’t. You don’t have the income needed to qualify. Banks don’t lend to people who can’t show that they can pay the money back.

It depends. We don’t know if she qualifies for Blue and Gold. If her family earns more than $80k, she won’t. At one point, she said that she’s upper middle class.

With your stats, some of the UC’s would be safeties. Cal Poly is also an option. My DD also wants to go back east to school and will apply to a number of them, but is also applying in-state as an affordable fallback.
