Sorry, I don’t “chance” students. Please don’t put my name in thread titles…I try to make my way into most threads, so there’s no need to call me out. :)

In-state = good chance of acceptance.
OOS = iffy

Lots of schools would be interested in having an AA student like yourself who is able to pull their weight academically as your stats indicate you can. UVA is as hard as the Ivies for OOS, i.e. lots of excellent kids get passed over.

UMich used to grade all factors of an application by assigning points and they used to automatically give free points for URM status. A supreme court decision put a stop to this

Well aware of Michigan’s old system, but thanks for trying to update me on that one.

A points system was not described above. Plue00 posted that points are added to the SAT scores of students from certain ethnic groups. That is completely false. It is not done.

Where can i find the most recent statistics of people who applied and/or got accepted to UVA? Does it also include minorites who applied and who got accepted?

I wish there were sample statistics of students who got accepted XD

I didn’t mean that they added points on to the SAT total. I was just saying its easier for a URM to get into college with a lower then average score on their SATs.

i wonder if UVA classifies races when deciding, like “were trying to aim for a 44%-50% of hispanics” and arranges all hispanic applications together, and chooses the best 44%-50%, i have a gut feeling they do that for some reason
