Help an ingrate: Transfer Courses to HAAS and Online Courses

Hey all,

I was wondering if it was possible to fulfill the Economics 1 requirement at HAAS by taking an Introductory Macro and MicroEconomics course at a community college this summer. I know they have a list of courses on assist.org where you can look up which CC courses you get credit for, but how do I know which course(s) correspond to what requirements at Berkeley?

Also, I was also planning to take an online Berkeley statistics course over the summer, which would fulfill the stats requirement for HAAS. http://statistics.berkeley.edu/~stark/Teach/S21/Su11/index.htm

My concern with this is that the course will be online (I can't physically be there until later in the summer). Will the HAAS men and women admission officers frown ungracefully and spit on my application because I took an online course equivalent at Cal (that is, will I be at a disadvantage in HAAS admissions because I took the online course vs. the real thing)?

I believe that, once you officially enroll at Berkeley, you are unable to complete Haas pre-requisites anywhere else but at Berkeley. You are, however, at no disadvantage for completing them online as long as the course is administered by Berkeley, like the Statistics course you mentioned.
