Help! Ap psychology or Ap Economics?

Hello! I’m in a dilemma where I can’t decide to schedule for AP pyschology or Ap microecon and Ap macroecon.
Along with my schedule (junior year) I am taking AP calc bc, ap composition, Band, ap chemistry, and ap biology.
I want to shoot for National Ap scholar before senior year and in order to do so I have to take ap macro and micro (counts as 2 exams) but I’m not sure if it is worth it since ap psychology can be a laidback class to relieve my stress. I took 2 aps last year so taking ap economics may fulfill the requirement for National AP Scholar Award. Please help give me advice, I study really hard and I have never gotten a B (only because I took only 2 aps last year compared to 5 this year). Is National AP scholar Award really important for resume? Is AP macro and AP micro relatively on the same easiness level as Psych? Thank you so much!

National AP Scholar doesn’t really do anything for you. It’ll be too late to put on college applications and I don’t know of employers care too much about what you did in high school. If you want it that bad I’d just recommend you self-study a really easy AP (APES, APHG, AP Psych, AP Comp, AP US Gov) so that you don’t have so much weight on you while you apply for colleges and still handle your AP course load. Of course how hard AP Economics and AP Psych are greatly depend on the school, but I’d say they’re fairly laid back AP’s. The material certainly isn’t that hard.

National AP Scholar is a marketing trick created by the CB to get kids to overload on APs. U are going to kill your cum… Drop a class!

OP is in junior year, so I think your best bet is to choose one and self-study the other. Both are relatively easy to self-study, maybe AP Psych a little more.

@pinklinks @suzyQ7 @yonceonhismouth Thanks guys! What does OP mean? And do colleges really take in consideration of the National AP Scholar Award that much?

OP just means original poster- I was referring to you

And no, colleges don’t really care at all about the National AP Scholar Award, since it comes out after decisions are made.

You get AP Scholar after senior year, but you get accepted into college fall or spring of your senior year.
The first thing I would ask myself is 'Why am I taking 2 AP Sciences"…if for AP Scholar forget it.
What do you want to major in? Colleges don’t expect you to take all of the AP sciences. That is alot for a senior…in the fall dealing with applications and in the spring dealing with senior burnout.

But AP Econ or AP Psych are both relatively easy to do well on theAP test and get college credit for. Whatever is more interesting to YOU

You were already advised in another thread not to take both AP Chem and Bio junior year, and instead take Spanish. I’m not sure why you want to double up on sciences… there is no need. Take Chem or Bio Senior year.

I am a rising ninth grader, so I may be very unhelpful when I answer you. I am sorry if my answer is bad as I do not know too much, and you may ignore mine if you would like.

I think it really depends on which field you plan on entering. If you want to be a businessman or want to do a job involving finance or money, AP Economics is a good idea. If you want to go in the political or government field, both AP Psychology and AP Economics are great, and you should pick the one you enjoy more. If you can take both, however, you should.

AP Psychology is important as psychology is an important topic that matters in almost everyone’s lives.

I personally think Psychology would be more enjoyable, so I recommend AP Psychology, but it is totally up to you.

Hope this helped and have a good day!
