Okay so no one submit their application! Let us hope Stanford extends the deadline or at least accepts our applications. If they don’t, it would be so bad though
A general comment – it is not uncommon for students to change the status of an app after submission by calling admissions at colleges when they change their mind. Most often we see this when a student applies ED, then changes their mind to switch to RD. The colleges can easily change the status and do. For what that is worth as you contemplate whether to submit RD or not.
In your e-mail attach a PDF of your application. On the commonapp.org, change early action to regular decison and then go to submit but only download the whole application and then cancel out. That way even if they don’t extend the time we can still say we emailed the application.
@intparent, if you call and switch to regular, are you allowed to edit your application in any way?
I don’t recall anyone asking to do so.
Me and my friend were freaking out about 15 minutes ago. Glad to see we’re all on the same page. I’m 100% Stanford will extend the deadline.
So, in light of these recent suggestions, are you guys going to 1) not do anything and call Stanford in the morning 2) submit it regular and then call to change it back to early 3) email a PDF of the application to Stanford?
ACCORDING TO THE COMMON APP (https://appsupport.commonapp.org/link/portal/33011/33013/Article/35/Where-can-I-find-information-about-college-deadlines):
“The application deadline is at 11:59 PM of the stated deadline date. The deadline time is either your local time zone or the school’s time zone, whichever is later. This means that you always have the full day of the stated deadline to submit your application.”
@anbn123 this is a huge dilemma ive been thinking about the past hour. I think im going to submit it under regular, then email Stanford credentials and tell them that I meant to do it early. Since this is before Novemeber 1, it should not be a problem.

CHANGING THE STATUS OF YOUR APPLICATION
Applicants requesting to change their application from Restrictive Early
Action to Regular Decision must email their request by December 1. Applicants
requesting to change from Regular Decision to Restrictive Early Action must
email their request by November 1. We will confirm changes to your
application.
Hopefully we get ours confirmed soon!
Why would all of you risk submitting at 9 PM PST on the last possible day…
Never take chances like that…
But i’m sure you will all be fine.
We are! Deadline extended to tonight at 11:59 PST.
Also, @routetocollege and @anbn123 , I called just to confirm that submitting regular + emailing credentials was acceptable as well, and it is! CONGRATULATIONS EVERYBODY
How would I go about changing from RD to REA?
