Help! Asking about on-campus living at HKUST

Anyone out here to help me?
Well I'm from Pakistan and intended to apply in Hong Kong university of science and technology(HKUST) for Postgraduate fall admission 2014.I want to ask any Pakistani student community there? Actually I want to get the guidance regarding the On-campus living at HKUST. About the living experience of the pakistani students living on campus accommodation. there are some issues in my mind about the Food etc . whether there is Halal food for Muslims available or not . can i do self catering there (cooking by myself)? are there any Pakistani food restaurants? Whether on campus residence will suit me or not? As the off-campus accommodation is quite expensive.

I couldn’t find information on the University’s website on whether Halal meal services are available.

I suggest looking for a school that has, at the very least, Kosher food services.

This is the list of restaurants on their website:

I suggest e-mailing an admissions counselor if possible to ask about these things. Good luck!

There are common kitchen area in each dorm that you can cook yourself. For Halal food you need to go to special store in Kowloon City to bu6 them. There is a signficant population of Pakistani and Muslim in HK. Don’t worry.

Just a reminder that eating in restaurant can be (and usually is) expensive in HK due to the high rent. While the Halal grocery stores and markets are very reasonably priced.
