Sorry to inconvenience you with yet another “will they rescind me” concern but as the May 1st deadline approaches my worry only continues to grow. I was accepted by JMU but I’m now worried that my offer might get rescinded. I am taking IB classes and had all A’s and B’s in the first semester them-except in one. I obtained an F in this class, however it’s not part of the core classes but only an elective that I don’t need to graduate. I’m very concerned that this could cause colleges to rescind their offer but I’m not entirely sure for they saw my mid-year report. I was doing just as bad in this class in the report but still got accepted.
Furthermore, due to the tremendous deterioration of my grandma’s health and her near death, my entire family was affected. It put a lot of stress on me and it plunged me into a deep depression which combined with my poor health affected my grades tremendously in the third quarter. As a whole I got multiple Fs and a D in my classes. I plan to do my very best in the fourth quarter to make up for this down turn, however I am extremely concerned that my offer may be rescinded for that slip. Due to my good first semester grades I do not expect to get anything below a C as a final grade in my classes (except in that one elective I don’t need), but I am still very worried. Should I start considering other options (such as community college) or is there hope for me yet?
