HELP! Best scholarships for chem engineering?

I'm overwhelmed trying to find which schools offer the best scholarships for chemical engineering as well as a top quality education. Getting ready to visit Univ. of Wisconsin, Madison and Colorado school of Mines. My parents will allow me to travel to one additional school, as its getting expensive to fly all over. I need a good scholarship to go to an out of state school. Would REALLY appreciate info!! My stats are:

ACT 29, math (32), science (29). Continuing to take to improve score.
Top 5% of class, 21/422 total. Unweighted GPA 3.9, weighted 4.2.
Took highest level classes available in math and science. Finance student of the year.
Varsity baseball, 3 years and Varsity swimming 4 years. Lots of comm. service.

So, from Madison, you’re @ 1 1/2 hrs from Northwestern, and from there @ 1 1/2 hours to U of I Urbana-Champ, and then it’s @ 1 1/2 hours to Purdue. Rose Hulman is right around Purdue - U of I, but it’s a much smaller school, and if you are intersted in WI, probably not of interest to you.

Your stats might get you into NU, and for sure Purdue, and U of I ranks high in ChemE rankings. And if you get into NU, then they should meet 100% of need, so there you go.

If you’re flying into Chicago, rent a car and drive to the others. You’ll be done in 2 days, and will have visited some of the best Chem E schools in the midwest.

Good luck.

I think you could get a scholarship from Colorado School of Mines for sure. If you can raise that test score then I think you are set. However, for out of state students, I think the most you can receive is 12k a year or something around that number which is not bad at all but it will still be expensive to attend.

here is a list of undergraduate ChE rankings by USNWR 2010 for universities that offer PhD’s

If your parents have low enough income then the bold are the universities that would probably give the best need-based financial aid.

for example, this is Princeton’s financial aid guidelines:

I don’t think he’d get in to most of the top 15 on that list. There are many school scholarships, but probably not specifically for ChemE.

^^ NCSU is really generous with aid from what I’ve heard.

^ Hey what are you talking about? He at least has a shot at Cornell but we don’t even know all of his stats.
