Ok so far I have these classes planned out but idk what to choose for my fourth class. I'm in Muir and a biochemistry and cell biology major. On my four year plan it says my fourth class should be a GE. My advisor recommended an easy elective. What are some fun and easy ones? Where can I find a list of electives? Can they be ANY class I choose or does it have to be from a certain list/category?

SDCC1
Chem6a
Math10a
???????

Thanks beforehand!

“elective” is a general term for ANY class you have an option of whether to take. so electives for your major would consist of something like “here are 5 classes, you need to pick one for your major.”

i’d recommend going through your college catalog, identifying which GEs you need to take before graduation, seeing which classes could be used to satisfy those GEs, looking up those classes on tritonlink to see whether they’re offered fall quarter, and then come back to CC to see what people have thought of those courses.

everyone’s colleges and majors and AP history are different, so something like “find me the easiest GE” is way too broad of a question to answer.

since you’re in muir, you might want to start one of the social science/fine arts/humanities/foreign language GEs.
popular classes out of those are the MUS series, VIS 1-3 plus 111 series.
i’ve taken the LTWL (literature of the world) 4 series and i think they’re really easy. they are actually film classes and you just write 4-6 film analyses that are a page long and have class discussions on film. they’re really fun and you get to watch pretty cool films.

Ok thank you soooo much @paradise!! I think I’m Leankng towards vis 1!

For Fine arts I recommend the sequence:
Mus 4 (Western Music taught by McAllister)
Mus 8 (American Music taught by Kenyatta and also passes the Muir Cultural Diversity requirement)
Mus 15 (Beatles taught by DeHart)
For Social Science: Psyc 1,2,3,4

I did not take the Humanities sequence so I can’t comment on those. People say to avoid the HILD 7 series though.

@miniaturedrone i was planning to take the MUS series and i was just wondering if the order matters? like do i have to take MUS 4 first before i take any other music classes?

What about psyc and Phil? Are those difficult?
