Help choosing a cc

Hello. This is probably the wrong place to put this, but it’s related to UC transfers.

I want to study physics at UC Berkeley. My plan is to go to community college and then transfer.

Which community college should I go to? I hear SMC has the highest transfer rate for UCs but that’s probably because more people want to transfer from there.

you should take a look at De Anza, they get a lot of transfers from there

This is not exactly what you’re looking for, but you can look up admit rates by campus and major for the UC campuses:

https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/infocenter/transfers-major

For Fall 2017, there were 204 transfer applicants for straight physics at UC Berkeley, with 58 admits for a rate of 28%.

This site tells you the transfers for each UC campus broken down by source CC, which is close to what you’re asking:

https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/infocenter/california-community-college-enrollments-uc

So the top five, in order, are Diablo Valley, De Anza, Santa Monica, Berkeley, and Pasadena. But there is no breakdown by major.

You might want to call up the physics undergraduate advisor at UCB and ask.
