Help choosing a major

Hey guys,

I’m about to be a senior in high school and I’m currently going through an “obsessed over my future” phase. I know many people’s dreams change over the college years but as of now my overall goal is to go to law school after getting my undergrad degree. To go to law school I can major in absolutely anything. But there’s no many options, I don’t know what to do. I don’t know what kind of lawyer I want to be, and hopefully I have time to figure that out. But I thought of corporate, civil, environmental and a few more. I want a major that will be helpful in law school but because I need a good GPA to get into law school, maybe an easier major. That being said, is there an easy major that still has potential for other careers in case I don’t go to law school or any other situation that might be thrown my way?

I’m not really a science person, math was always easy for me…until I hit calculus and then I struggled. I love english and history but I doubt if have much security with those majors…

Any feedback on easy yet rewarding majors? I really wanna be a lawyer but there’s always that part of me scared that I’ll end up not going to law school and then just have a useless major.

Thanks in advance

You don’t want to pick an ‘easy’ major. Law school is tough; you want to pick a major that will prepare you for the rigors of law school and then do well in it.

Also, you can get a job in any major. Some majors are correlated with, on average, higher salaries. Those tend to be mathematical, computer, and physical science majors, and some business majors. But you could major in English or history and still get a job. Do internships and learn skills and gain experience.

Many students go in undecided and take a few classes in some areas of interest before they pick a major. You don’t have to know what you want to major in right now; you can decide later in your freshman year, or even in the beginning of your sophomore year.
