I have just received the admission as master of science in EE from University of southern California and Columbia U, and quite confused with which one to accept.

Columibia Uni has great fame as an Ivy league U, and the rank for EE programme is also top 20.

The EE program of USC is fairly large and has a great number of students. The rank is a little bit higher than CU. Moreover, the location of LA also provides good chance of finding jobs as Electrical Engineer than NYC. But the fame in whole may not be as good as CU.

I am also wondering the fields that each of these two university is famous for, as I have not decided which field I should work in (Probably embedded system or Signal and image processing or communication networks).

Thank you so much, guys.

If the cost is the same, I say go for Columbia, assuming you like the campus environment. USC has a lot of school spirit and a great football tradition, but Columbia is just as good in Engineering and it is slightly better than USC overall.

Thank you, Alexandre, Do you have any idea about the research fields of strength for these two Universities in terms of Electrical Engineering?

Up, up. I have also received the TCOM program from Upenn, which provides Wharton courses. What about this AD?

Wait, is this a BS-MS program or is it just a MS?

All of the three are master degrees.

Up,Up. Waiting for advice

I have a similar query…!!!
I got an Admit from USC and Columbia for a masters in Electrical Engineering.
My interest lies in signal processing and Image processing. Morever i am not focused in a Phd, but rather in MS and would seek a job after it.
Some basic questions i have in mind:
- Would the Ivy Tag help post MS in job hunting considering jobs in NY are for financial?
- What are the job scenario post MS in EE from CU. I haven’t been able to get in touch with any senior from CU. Please Advice?
- I have heard that CU is better that USC, in terms of ranking for EE? Is that really so? If yes then why is the placement scenario not so good there?

Please advice me so that i may reach a decision
