Is it possible to get a B.A. in comp. sci. while enrolled in the Faculty of Arts, or would this require an intra-faculty transfer?

It is definitely possible to do the Major Comp Sci in arts but I would recommend doing a minor comp sci in addition or looking at the requirements of the Science comp sci major and following those instead of the requirements for the Comp Sci -Arts program, because the major in arts is more like a bettered version of the minor in science, not the equivalent of the major in science.
So if you are interested in both arts and science, I would recommend transfering to Arts&Science, so then you can do your comp sci in science and do a minor or whatever in arts.

Thank you very much for the information, Helloworld.

I know you think that major in science > major in arts > minor in science, but why do you think that? I’m in the same boat as you on this, but it would be helpful if I heard your reasoning.

Thanks.

well the big difference is just in the program requirements…major comp sci in science is 63 credits whereas in arts its only 36 and the minor in science is 24 credits. So the courses are the same at the beginning, its just that in science you have a third more courses to take, and those are the high level courses that will make a difference.
