HELP!! (Concerning art supplies)

So, I was given a list of art supplies to purchase for my various art courses. I was then told that the supplies were sold in our school bookstore. After waiting in a line for an hour and a half to get supplies I found that they only had microns and pottery sets. I immediately thought that they just ran out of supplies from other students purchasing them so I went to question someone who worked there. I found out that that's how the supplies always are stocked. Just a pottery set and some microns. I was told that I could preorder more supplies online but when I checked the site they only had charcoal and bristol board paper in stock. Plus I simply dont have the money on hand to pay for these things. Obviously im in a pinch since I need the supplies yet I cant get them, so now I have come here for advice from people who might have been in the same situation.

I just have two questions - probably more, my mind is so scattered right now - to ask.

Can I use book vouchers at art supply stores to purchase supplies?

If not - and you were in the same situation - how did you manage to get them? Is there any way or program or something that I can do to get the supplies?

I doubt that art supply stores that aren’t connected to your college would accept vouchers. I would talk to financial aid and see if they can help you.

just borrow someones stuff until you can pay for your own or see if you can get yourself a maintenance bursary from the fin aid office. Blick is a good store to get eveything in one go. They have an extensive range of materials and they are relatively cheap. They also have big sales every now and then that you may want to watch out for.

Check the supplies list they give you too, I was able to get away with buying only the stuff I needed immediately and aquired the rest as time went on, it was easier on the pocket.

I second Blick. I don’t know how much all your necessary supplies cost, but I believe Blick carries a bargain through their website that if you go over about $100, shipping is free. Many art supplies lists from schools will recommend the top brands; you save money buying the less expensive brand.
