So basically I plan on starting my own educational program specializing in the sciences targeted for teenagers but I don’t know what to major in. Should I major in the science that I’d like to teach or major in business? Or should I major in one then minor in the other or should I double major? There are a lot of paths I could take but I don’t know which one is the best.
None of them is necessarily absolute “best,” and it’s really up to you what you’d like to major in. It also depends on how you see your role in this educational program - do you want to teach the sciences yourself, or do you want to be the business person spearheading the program without much involvement in the actual educational elements? I’d advocate for majoring in the science that you want to teach and then maybe minoring in business, or taking some additional classes. That way, you could also teach science as a middle/high school teacher to gain experience first, so that you’re more successful when you start the program.
After my bachelors, would I get an Ed.D, PhD, or an MBA?
People change plans often. I wouldn’t box yourself in so narrowly thinking that you will devote your life to doing this very specific thing. You may regret it later.
