Help Deciding Which Schools to Apply To? Based on credentials.

Hello, I am a Junior entering high school.
I'm having a bit of a hard time figuring out where I'd want to apply to for college :/
My tests and grades are still improving significantly and I have a lot of leadership potential and I think that it shows through my extracurriculars.

My Info:

GPA:90 (Steady, noticeable improvement from Freshmen year, I started around 80)
SAT's: 1810 (First Time, Reading-570, Math-620, Writing-620)

I'm currently taking AP English Language/Comp, AP Psychology, AP US History.
Senior year classes: AP English Lit./Comp, AP Gov't, AP Economics, AP Photography, AP Bio

Student Government:
-Grade Elected Sophomore Class Public Relations Secretary 09-10
-School Elected Executive Board Public Relations Secretary 10-11
-School Elected Executive Board Vice President 11-12 (Most likely)

Images Literary and Arts Magazine
-Literary and Art Staff 10-11
-Literary Editor 10-11
-Editor in Chief 11-12 (Most likely)

Newspaper
-Staff Writer 10-11
-Opinions Editor 11-12 (Most likely)

-Football, 09-10
-Yearbook Club, 10-11

*I also hope to start a Christian Club at my school by next year

-Working 4 days/week at Child Care Facility, 2010-11

-Worked at a local grocery Summer 2009
-Volunteer photographer for many events related to a Korean association

I would LOVE to go to Columbia University, but that seems unrealistic at this point. I have 2 other colleges for sure, SUNY Geneseo and Boston College? I'm not even sure if those are realistic. Like I said, my SAT's and my GPA are guaranteed to improve significantly by the end of this year. I'd really appreciate ANY comments/suggestions/anything/everything Thanks:)

I think that GPA is weighted? Or is it not the cum?

GPA:90 (Steady, noticeable improvement from Freshmen year, I started around 80)
SAT’s: 1810 (First Time, Reading-570, Math-620, Writing-620)

I would LOVE to go to Columbia University, but that seems unrealistic at this point. I have 2 other colleges for sure, SUNY Geneseo and Boston College? I’m not even sure if those are realistic. Like I said, my SAT’s and my GPA are guaranteed to improve significantly by the end of this year. I’d really appreciate ANY comments/suggestions/anything/everything

Since you’re currently a junior, you have time to do the following…

Improve your SAT (take the ACT, too)

Improve your GPA (what is your ranking at your school. Ivies REALLY look at ranking)

What is your likely major/career?

Important!! Talk to your parents about how much they will pay each year. That answer will largely determine where you should apply.

Because my dad passed away when I was young, and I have two younger brothers, I’m assuming that I would be able to get a lot from financial aid but I know that if I get into a good school then price won’t really matter.

The 90 average is my GPA at the end of sophomore year, not cumulative and weighted, but with only 1 honors class during sophomore year.

I am most likely going to major in political science, English, or teaching. I am considering the career paths of politics, teaching, and ministry (Presbyterian)

To clarify about the GPA, what was your GPA for each year? An 80 in freshman year can only get to a 90 cum if you had a 100 in your soph year.

For FA, you don’t get everything you THINK you need. Most schools do not meet full need, and most parents are very surprised at what FAFSA shows as the Family’s EFC. I assume you are in NY? As Mom2CK asked, what is your mom willing to pay??

My GPA is at a cumulative of 87, with honors from sophomore mixed in. I don’t think that money is really an issue at all, I live in NY.

Are you low income? Like SUPER low income?
If you are, you could check out HEOP. My friend with a similar SAT score got a free ride to Columbia (FU) that way. His avg was about a 92 though.

Just make sure to rock junior year!
