Help? Direct Admit Nursing schools - Southern States

I’m asking for suggestions of direct admit nursing programs in the southeast or southwest part of the US. I’d like to apply to one in the south as a backup option. My ACT is 31, GPA is 3.98 UW, 4.15 W. I’d prefer a large school that gives merit aid to out of state students to cover a good chunk of the out of state tuition. I’m aware of Clemson, TN, VA, but not sure about Merit Aid at those schools. If anyone has any suggestions, I’d appreciate it.

There aren’t many. U. of Virginia is direct entry, but extremely competitive for entry. They do provide excellent need-based aid for out of state students (which is rare among public universities). However, they do not offer merit aid to incoming first years.

Have you looked at the listing of direct entry BSN schools?

University of Alabama at Birmingham is one on the list. It looks like you could qualify for $15k/yr merit

Thank you for taking the time to respond.

I was going to apply to UVA until I read that they don’t really do merit aid and I can’t afford full out of state tuition. However, I won’t qualify for need based aid.

I was looking at UAB, but it doesn’t appear to be direct entry.

I’m not sure if you are considering FL, but my daughter received a large merit aid scholarship at UMiami. They have a direct admit program.

Try UVa’s net price calculator. You may be surprised how much need based aid you may receive as an out of state student.

Look at University of South Florida
