Help ease my mind . . .

I'm applying to transfer to Smith for Fall of '08. I just sent my app in over the weekend, and already I'm beginning to obsess over whether or not I'll get in. So, as old as these threads may get, would anyone be able to guess at my chances of being accepted?

I'm applying for Junior standing as an English major. My current GPA is a 3.79 from a state university in PA. My midterm grades are 3 A's and 2 B+'s, although I'll probably bring them up to A's by the end of the semester >.<. The Bs are in my 300 level classes (senior level at my school) so I hope that'll help.

I sent my ACT scores - 27 composite. Kinda yucky, I know. I got a 34 in reading, 33 English, 27 science, but my math is just laughable. I also got an 11/12 on the writing portion.

I also have a bunch of EC's and am getting a very good recommendation.

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks. :)

i dont know what kind of transfer acceptance rate Smith has, or how many spots they have available for junior year, but you seem like a pretty strong candidate. i know for freshmen, the numbers this year are going to be KILLER unbelievable. sorry if i wasnt too helpful- i'm sure you'll get some responses from other people. i just happen to be obsessed with the smith forum.

Haha You're speedy! Thanks for the response and your thoughts. ^^ Are you a current student or are you applying as well?

im applying this year. and i REALLY should be studying for my AP gov test. because last time i checked i had a 79 in that class. oops. senioritis, what can i say? but this is our last test before the quarter ends on friday and i need to NOT have a 79 at the quarter.

anyone know anything about Russia?

It's really difficult to judge your chances (or anyone else's), but you seem to be in the range. It kind of depends on what the rest of the transfer pool looks like, how may transfer spaces they have v. how many applicants, etc.

So all anyone on here can probably tell you is: Good luck!

Thanks, Smithie. ^^ And I hope your test goes well, Inspiration!
