One of the essays for a college I’m applying to asks why you’re interested in the areas you indicated earlier. Earlier I put cognitive science. This school has cognitive science and neuroscience majors. In my essay, I wrote about neuroscience because I copied and pasted. I changed it to cognitive science once but the essay says neuroscience two other times. I feel really stupid…I being rushed out for a family party and I wanted to submit it and get it over with. What should I do? Email them? Let it go? How bad does it look?
Thank you.
They may notice it- I’m not sure how much effect it will have. They may just think you got confused or made a typo, if it was only twice, it might not be too big of a deal.
@yonceonhismouth thank you. Do you think I should contact them?
@greenteen17 I would let it ride. Is that the Brown app or a different one? I only ask because I recognized that as the first supplemental Brown essay.
@paveyourpath the first college is Brown, for which I listed neuroscience as my interest. the second is Yale where I messed up
On the app Brown stated they are just trying to get an idea of what interests you. Remember, there are some kids who will enter undecided so it would really be fine to have them both included, even though it wasn’t your intent. I wouldn’t worry about this. It’s not worth contacting the schools to correct.
@paveyourpath sorry if I wasn’t clear above, but I sent the messed up essay to Yale. The original that I copied and pasted was from Brown.
