I am a homeschooler applying to the Bienen School of Music early decision, and I am having qualms over what I should do with my senior year class schedule.

Here are my schedules for my first three years of high school:

Freshman: Pre-IB Eng, Pre-IB Alg II, Pre-IB Biology, AP World History, Audition-only chorus, and Pre-IB Spanish I

Sophomore: Pre-IB Eng, 1st year of IB Math SL, Pre-IB Physics, AP Euro, Concert Choir, and Pre-IB Spanish II

Junior: (Switched to homeschooling) online AP Lang, online AP Calc AB, online Chem honors, self-taught Nutrition, Choir, self-taught Home Economics, (over the summer) community college courses in U.S. History & Gov.

For my senior year, I am already taking community college courses in Musicianship (i.e. music theory for music majors) and French I. I am taking a homeschool course with another family in German. I am also taking AP Biology online.

I need only one English credit to officially finish my high school education, and I have the option of taking AP Lit online. However, I feel as if online classes consist of mainly busy work and that I can teach myself more material through reading classic literature and standard books about composition, including Elements of Style and Writer's Digest. I am also thinking about self-studying for AP Psychology since I may double major in music cognition in addition to a definite major in vocal performance. The problem is that I don't know if I have time to do AP Bio, self-study AP Psych, and English all at once because I also work. My job as a music teacher is critical to my experience as a musician and perhaps improves my application to a school of music more so than an AP class. Any thoughts on this?

So, here are my questions. Is it necessary for me to take AP Lit, or will the admissions committee not mind if I create my own course of study in English? Do I need to take AP Biology if I self-study for AP Psych? How important are AP courses on a homeschooler's application to NU?

Any advice is appreciated! Thank you in advance.
