Senior Year Schedule Questions

Class registration for next year is beginning this week at my school, and I'm a little conflicted. I can take a maximum of 6 courses, 7 if I waive my study hall.

This is my future schedule thus far:
1. AP Chemistry
2. AP Calc BC
3. AP Gov/Micro-econ
4. AP Lit
5. AP Music Theory
6. Wind Ensemble

Does this seem logical for someone aiming for an upper-tier university like Rice or Vanderbilt? I have 3 years of Spanish (all honors) and one AP science (AP Bio currently with an A), and the highest math I've taken is Pre-Calculus Honors (currently enrolled with an A).

My concern is that I have not taken the proper math and science courses, due mostly to the fact that I moved across the country and jumped into my sophomore year without really understanding the school's system. I was unaware that I could take multiple science and math courses at once (something that was strictly forbidden at my previous school) and consequently did not take advantage.

So, should I take an AP science (e.g AP Physics B) or AP Stat instead of Music Theory? Or waive my study hall, take a 7th course, and risk drowning in work? Or just stick with my planned course?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

your schedule is already rigorous in my opinion and while it’s good to take hard courses and apply yourself you should also enjoy your schedule. if you want to take music theory then you should but if you feel that another class would benefit you and you could still enjoy your schedule then proceed accordingly.
