Hi everyone,
I need some help finding safety schools to apply to...

I'm a current junior (female) from New England at a top boarding school with an A- average
SAT : Math 710, Reading 800, Writing 800

And having trouble finding less selective schools that fit my criteria:
-Well respected
-Urban/In a city
-Not too small (about 4000 min?)
-Not in a super-cold climate =P

Any ideas? I can give more info if you need, but any help is really really appreciated!

Debater, for many kids in your situation EA or rolling admissions is a good idea. That way you have at least one in the bag before the other choices are in. Many kids with your stats use their state school as a safety. Other good choices would be Catholic schools such as Fordham, Loyola, Villanova. My son applied to GT, BC, STate U and ST Bonaventure early. Got into all but GT where he was deferred. That way he was free to reach as high as he wanted as he really like State U and BC and would have been just as happy stopping the process right there.

American, George Washington, Tulane, University of Maryland---your guidance counselor can tell you if these are safe enough. You might consider the less selective of the Claremont colleges, too.
