According to NC College undergraduate freshman must have token minimum of 2 year of foreign language (2 semesters) .
Well i'll be a senior soon, i haven't token any.
From what i read colleges look at first semester grade, which mean they will only be able to see 1 foreign language.
Am I still able to apply or will I be simply denied because I did not reach their minimum?

PLEASE HELP!

If the college requires (note that some schools recommend, not require) 2 years of foreign language and you only take 1, you will be ineligible for admission, granted your school offers foreign language. Many schools recommend or require 3 years of foreign language, so this may be an issue. Why have you not taken a foreign language? Is your school on a block schedule? If so, you can take 2 years of foreign language in one year (eg french 1 first semester, french 2 second semester) because semester classes in the block system are equivalent to year long. Colleges will see your full year schedule though.

Unless you are taking an accelerated course or dual enrollment at college, you cannot complete 2 years of foreign language requirement in 1 year. Typically, each year of foreign language would be equivalent to 1 semester of foreign language in college. You could have taken 1 over the summer in a community college and then the level 2 in senior. Ask your GC to see if there is any options available, otherwise, you may be not eligible for those schools that require 2 years of a foreign language.

Yes, my school runs on a block schedule. Block 1 2 3 & 4 ( each semester)
I’m taking French 1 first semester block 1 and then i’m taking French 2 second semester block 1 .

Colleges will see that I took both right?

that will count as two years of foreign lang and yes they will see both.

^ It would be either shown on your transcript or you can report your schedule on the application. There is a section in CommonApp for that.

THANK YOU SO MUCH GUYS/GALS
