HELP?! Has this happened to anyone else?

I received an email about checking my status online and when I did, I got the message that my application fee has not been processed (and to call if I had already paid).

So I called and continuously got this message after going to different menus:
(something along these lines)
Cornell has received a large number of applications and is currently processing them. We will not be done until mid-February; then, you will be notified if you have any missing application materials and will be given the opportunity to turn them in. At this time, we will not be responding to any phone calls or email inquiries [so do not bother, basically].

I checked my Common App to make sure that it processed and I have the receipt, but according to what I heard multiple times, I will not be able to contact Cornell in any way. Has this happened to anybody else?

chill out, its no big deal.
instead of worrying about it, if you can’t wait, just pick up the phone and call admissions again… if no one still answers, just send a letter or email. there are probably hundreds of applicants with the same issue, just chill and they will contact you if anything is missing. nothing to worry about.

Cornell is processing tens of thousands of applications and it’s tough for them to respond to individuals.

They are very good about contacting applicants that are missing materials so try not to worry. I went through the same thing with Cornell many years ago (letter of rec wasn’t showing up) and it worked out just fine for me ;)

I had a similar problem with another college: I had paid the fee and it showed up on Common App as good to go. On the college’s website, though, it didn’t on the first day, the second, all the way up to a week when the college finally had confirmed that it received my payment.

So, just wait. If you are really worried, then pay again so you know you did it (for sure) and you can just tell Cornell later that they got the payment twice and to reimburse you for one.
