Help Help Needed With Decision

Hi,

I am an international student who has been so blessed as to be accepted as a Spring 08 transfer by UT Austin. I will be doing a Major in Psychology at UT. Can somebody here tell me if UT is the right place to be doing Psychology? I mean, how are the professors, how "prestigious" is this major in the Liberal Arts Department as compared to say, Economics, or Government.

I have a further dilemma here because I hope to double degree in RTF. However, I am worried that because this is an impacted major, it would be difficult to get into RTF. Could anyone here advize as to the chances of one being able to double degree in RTF? Here's the third problem: The RTF Website clearly states that they would allow only a maximum of a double major. However, for interest sake, I hope to do a third degree in the Biological Sciences.

UT clearly is a highly prestigious school and is clearly my first choice. However, I am just worried that I'll end up graduating with just a Psyc Degree without a chance to experiment with the other majors. To do a separate field of study, especially in film, has allows been my goal as well (that's why I chose UT partly because they offer the RTF Major) .Can someone please as to what to do?

Thank you!

Thank you!

You won't be able to do 3 degree plans without going over 4 years for sure.

You will find it incredibly difficult to manage 3 degrees at once. Also, it will be very difficult for you to manage to register for all the necessary classes in the first 4 years. It might take 5 or 6 years, even taking 15 hours a semester.

I'd try a double major and add a minor if you have time.

Also, I believe RTF is stating that they will not allow you to register for more than 2 majors--it goes through your advisor who has to approve your course selection--which he wouldn't.
