I paid my enrollment deposit on Friday, March 31st when I realized the housing lottery deadline was Monday, April 3rd. However, I have not yet received my uniquename (one time I.D.). The website says I should receive it within 36 hours. For those of you who have paid their enrollment deposits on-line, did you receive you one-time I.D. by email? How long did it take to to receive it? Thanks!

I'm in the exact same situation as you...

housing lottery!? what is that!??!

Anhydrosis / Benson - I got my uniqname within the 48 hours of Michigan getting my enrollment deposit. However, a friend of mine who paid his deposit a few days ago and was worried about the lottery, called up Michigan and he says they gave him his one-time-id...but not 100% of the stories credibility.

Pooter - The people who have paid their enrollment deposit and have setup their Michigan uniqname are able to complete their housing applications right now. Those who get it in before April 3rd are put into a lottery to determine where you live. Those who submit it after April 4th get their housing assigned by whatever is leftover after the lottery and is done on a first-come-first-serve basis. It is my understanding that if you get it in after April 3rd its not like you will automatically get stuck on North Campus.

thanks...so uh it's too late to pay the enrollment deposit and be in the lottery for tomorrow?

I'm still undecided if i want to go to umich....am i gonna get screwed over in housing if i do end up there?

I also paid my enrollment deposit on Friday. I had no idea that the housing lottery stuff had to be in by April 3rd or I would have put my deposit in sooner. I also really don't want to be on North Campus, if I send in my housing form the day I get my uniquename can I avoid living on North Campus? Also does it matter what school you are in for housing? Is there anyway I can guarentee not getting on North Campus?

knows11 - If you want to be a part of a Michigan Learning Community, some of the programs are residential. When you apply for housing you can also apply for the communities. If you are accepted to a residential one, you live in a dorm with other students in your community. A lot of the residential programs have housing in central campus/hill area... mosher jordan for example.
