HELP! How do you study for 3-5 tests/quizzes on the SAME DAY?

This always happens to me and it screws everything up! I always end up doing very mediocre Bs, Cs) on ALL of them bc I wasn't able to balance the little time a had to study effectively. It is really annoying to because a lot of the time the quizzes I have are announced just the day before. And I get very little sleep (5 hrs) as a result and that might also be hindering my test taking skills :(

Cramming. That`s how.

Usually, depends on science, but I can pull all As and one or two Bs.

This is how every single Friday works:

Legit, Ill study the night before for math, Ill study 5 minutes for science at the beginning of class (Tests are super easy, 20 questions and right off our review sheet). At lunch, Ill copy someones map onto my own and study for our map quiz in history. And we have a 30 minute study hall right before history, so I`ll study then (really, like only 5 minutes) and then take it.

Yep.

Best is to already know most of the material beforehand to minimize studying time. Then you can devote that time to subjects you don’t know as well.

it depends how your teachers weight tests and quizzes.
Usually quiz will just be the stuff you recently learn in class.
So try to pay attention in class everyday and master the materials in class.
You just need to do your homework in daily base and remember all the stuffs you have learned and do a little review.
Then you can focus on the test which usually counts more than quizzes.
Also for me, it really depends on which subject you will take test. Usually for math and science, there is not a lot of reading or memorizing, you just need to know the formulas and be able to apply to it. Usually it doesn’t take a long time to review these subjects. For social science, like history, you really need to spend time on it. Another thing really helps is flashcards. Because by reviewing some flashcards, you can break down a hour long study to several integrals. It usually works better than just reading for hours especially for subjects have a lot of vocab or key terms.
Also, you need to sleep!!! When you sleep, your brain is still working on memory. So the stuff you just learn before you sleep won’t go away.
For tests you already know, try to plan ahead rather than cram before the test.

I always study for Math and History tests/quizzes - so those take priority. English quizzes are usually extremely easy, since more often than not, it’s on style techniques or vocabulary (and I have a pretty solid grasp on what alliteration is, or how to use “endogamy” in a sentence, etc) - science is a joke too, in terms of the tests and quizzes - I guess that I’m trying to get at is, evaluate precedents with your subjects’ tests - see which ones you normally do really well on, and one’s you may not, and study accordingly.

Man you’re unlucky.

At our school we alternate classes on different days. Like for Monday I have Chem and Tuesday I have AP Lang so I usually have enough time to study for tests. Anyways what you can do is put one hour to review your notes for each class. If you still have trouble with one class, put a little more time on that class.

I study for Calc and Physics only. The rest I usually just blow off (Senioritis >.< ). I’m pulling all A’s so far though, so its been working out.

cram cram cram cram

I study from easiest to hardest. So, I’ll quickly spend a few minutes studying for math quizzes or english tests. Then, I’ll spend a couple of hours really cramming ap bio material, because those tests are always crazy difficult. After I do that and take a short break, I’ll see if I remember the earlier easy stuff by quizzing myself. Then repeat! :)

A dry erase board is a really useful way to test yourself and memorize equations and facts.

Just make sure that you cover all of them efficiently. Also, try to make sure you get more sleep.

Thanks guys but its still difficult for me because especially in AP Bio and AP Calc you cannot succeed with cramming. There is just way too much stuff. With my other classes I did cram but I checked my grades and I got Bs. I don’t have much time to study during school either because we have no study hall. Hopefully this won’t happen again. Today was awful. Just wish we had block schedule and teachers were more understanding.

For AP Bio and US History I would read the textbook the day prior to the test. I usually do pretty well on those tests. I’m not taking AP Calc like you because I really suck at math so if I were you I would spend like over 9000 hours studying that until I get it.

Have a nice day

Study from easiest to hardest to get stuff out of the way
Make sure you don’t get distracted (everyone will deny having taken facebook/whatever else breaks every few minutes but most people do)
Take breaks every half hour so you don’t burn yourself out too soon
Try to sleep–not always easy, but if you’re getting 5hrs with 3 quizzes the next day you’re doing alright

I once had a test or quiz in all my classes on the same day. Needless to say, it was a bad day.
To answer your question, I usually try to study days in advance. That way, I can refresh my memory on the material the night before.

Yeah rspence is right. You basically have to keep up on material. My fridays suck because I usually have mandarin chapter test, a Calc test, and an english essay due.

Just keep up on your classes. Try not to fall behind.

As others mentioned, prioritize your schedule. I do the following:

Always study: APUSH, AP Latin, AP Chem
Sometimes study: AP Calc BC
Rarely study: AP Stats, Physics, English 11H

Because I have APUSH, AP Latin, and AP Calc BC on the same day, simultaneous tests can be tough, so I usually end up allotting more time for studying (i.e. start studying earlier) if I can’t do it all in one night.

@CE527M: Just curious, what’s up with the grave mark? You do know where the apostrophe key is, right?
