I don't know how to approach this. I need to submit my college apps by Jan 15th. I finished everything but the recommendation letter.

I asked the professor about a month back to write it for me. Then I sent her an email a few days back again (being a professor, she checks it like 15 times a day). That email was just like an indirect reminder that I need to have it in soon.

Now I only have two days to submit, and haven't heard anything.

How should I email her now, and ask for the rec letter and tell her that I need it urgently... without coming off sounding like an ass?

Colleges usually give recs leeway when it comes to deadlines. They know it's not fair if they disqualify a candidate based on the faults of another person.

If you're a US student applying to schools in the UK, a US professor may not understand that they're supposed to send you the rec to copy into your application. Make sure you've made that clear to her. If it's possible, call her or see her in person - talk to her directly rather than e-mailing her. If you're having a real conversation instead of exchanging e-mails, she'll have to respond.
