Hi, when I took ACT in September I have requested to send the scores to SJSU. Now I am applying for other CSU campuses. I have been requested to send the ACT scores to them. I searched online and found information on it by using CSU Mentor’s ACT score manager to release the scores to different campuses. However, CSU mentor has been replaced by Cal State Apply. I can not find “ACT score manager” on the website. Could anybody tell me how to do it? Thanks in advance.
Found this on website regarding the changes that have occurred:
“We’re very excited about the launch of the new Cal State Apply platform because it represents significant improvements to the previous system that we believe will greatly help students, parents and counselors,” says April Grommo, Ed.D., director of enrollment management services at the Chancellor’s Office, in Long Beach.
Here are some of the most important updates to be aware of as you prepare to apply to the CSU:
There’s now one single application for all 23 CSU campuses. Many prospective students want to apply simultaneously to more than one campus, something that was time-consuming to do with the previous application. Now you can select any and all campuses you want your application to be sent to simultaneously.
Applying to EOP is now part of Cal State Apply. For more than 40 years, the CSU’s Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) has worked to improve access to higher education and opportunity to low-income and educationally disadvantaged Californians, most of whom are first-generation college students. By integrating the application to EOP into the application for admission, the CSU hopes to make more eligible students aware of the program. (Learn more about applying to EOP in the EOP Application Book, 2017-18.)
ACT and SAT scores are automatically sent. If you’re an incoming freshman who has taken the ACT or SAT, your test results will be distributed to all CSU campuses to which you’ve applied – so there’s no need for you to send the scores to each school’s admissions office.
I think all Cal State Apply is doing is sharing your self-reported scores that you entered on the application. We contacted the CSU’s that we applied to (SLO and SDSU) and they both said they are fine with the self-reported scores and that we could send official ACT scores post acceptance. They also said we could send them now to all CSU’s we applied to which would alleviate any issues if scores were input incorrectly on the app - so your choice.
It’s unclear to me if all CSU’s get scores if sent to one CSU under the new system. Anyways, if you just send post admission to the one you plan to attend you should be fine. This is basic info that should be much more clearly spelled out.
Thanks a lot!
