So I’m between Boston College, American University (Honors Program), Northeastern University (3+3 program), and George Washington University and I can’t decide which school to go to. I have yet to hear back for the financial aid but my merit award is around 12-15k for each school so right now it’s about other things. I love DC and I’m sure I’ll love Boston so the location is as important. I’m studying Political Science and plan to go into Law. I want to be involved in politics/be a politician in the future so I’m trying to consider all the options. I’m bisexual and Hispanic so having some sort of community that represents those groups would be great. I also really want to have many internship/job opportunities and a nice dorm room is really necessary. Finally, I wanna know about the community and party life of the schools. Someone help me decide which school to go to.
Based on what you said, the best choice would be American University Honors Program: it’s very supportive of various minority groups (in fact, diversity is celebrated), being in DC for political science during election years is going to be just awesome, and AU’s so serious about internships that one day a week is basically “internship day” for most upper class students. However I have no idea about dorm quality. (Being in Honors typically means to get the best dorms among freshmen, typically upper-class quality dorms. Being in Honors has other perks, too.)
Your worst choice is Boston College, since it’s Catholic and more conservative than Georgetown or Holy Cross.
However, post again once you have your full financial aid package for each school - you should have received it by now, so check your portal and if you haven’t received anything, call them on Monday first thing.
