Help I can't decide between colleges! (This one is for Hunter, specifically)

Hi! I’m currently stuck between a couple of schools - Adelphi University, UCONN: Storrs, UMASS: Amherst, and Hunter College.

I’m also a NYC resident, which draws me to Adelphi and Hunter since both schools are so close to home.

The thing with Hunter College is that I heard that it’s not student friendly.

Adelphi gave me the most scholarship (half-ride). It is also opening a new nursing facility in 2015. The thing that makes me iffy about the school is that it’s a small commuter school.

I would have to pay the most for UMass Amherst and UConn since I am an out of state student (I don’t qualify for New England). UMass Amherst gave me 10k and honors college while UConn gave me 5k.

I’m really interested in being in the whole school pride thing, which makes me like UConn.

I’d prefer living suite style than traditional style.

I’m really interested in going to the gym on campus, so a nice gym would be wonderful!

If any of you guys have any pros/cons about any or every aspect about the schools, it would be much appreciated! Thank you!

Hi!

While I’m planning on attending Hunter, I was also accepted into both Adelphi as well as UCONN: Storrs. Out of all the colleges you listed I think your most beneficial would either be Hunter, UMASS or UCONN. It really boils down to personal preference after that. I chose Hunter because living in NYC has always been something I’ve wanted to do, so while UConn was tempting, it just wasn’t for me.

I can’t tell you anything about UMass’ dorms, but both Hunter and UConn have the option of apartment/living suite dorms. The only thing I can say it to take a look at the residential life sections of all of the colleges’ websites and make a decision that’s most beneficial to you, and hey, if you don’t like it, you can always transfer. (: live and learn.
