Help! I can't decide between schools!

Hi! I'm currently stuck between a couple of schools - Adelphi University, UCONN: Storrs, UMASS: Amherst, and Hunter College.

I'm also a NYC resident, which draws me to Adelphi and Hunter since both schools are so close to home.

The thing with Hunter College is that I heard that it's not student friendly.

Adelphi gave me the most scholarship (half-ride). It is also opening a new nursing facility in 2015. The thing that makes me iffy about the school is that it's a small commuter school.

I would have to pay the most for UMass Amherst and UConn since I am an out of state student (I don't qualify for New England). UMass Amherst gave me 10k and honors college while UConn gave me 5k.

I'm really interested in being in the whole school pride thing, which makes me like UConn.

I'd prefer living suite style than traditional style.

I'm really interested in going to the gym on campus, so a nice gym would be wonderful!

If any of you guys have any pros/cons about any or every aspect about the schools, it would be much appreciated! Thank you! ♥

I’m not a student, but my daughter is a freshman at Adelphi. I know everyone’s experience is different, but I can tell you that she really likes it. We live on Long Island, but she chose to dorm at the school to get the whole college experience. She has made many friends within her dorm and her major and always seems to be busy with something. She is in the traditional style dorm, but I think there may be some suite style options (you can check the website for the dorm options and what’s available.)

I know that there is definitely a gym on campus, because she’s always telling about her zumba classes, cycling classes, etc. There’s also a pool, state of the art dance studios, and many various sport fields/stadiums.

She too obtained a very generous scholarship, which is a big help!

Good luck on your decision! You have many good choices.
