Hi guys! I looked at my SAT subject tests results today. In one word: absolutely deplorable and hopeless performance.
Physics: (no prep) 560
Chemistry: 720 (only Princeton Review)
Biology M: 660 (Princeton Review but didn’t get time to do the tests at back)
I crammed most of these in the month of May by doing Princeton Review, looks like they didn’t pay off at all. I’m extremely disappointed in myself. I’m retaking the SAT October subject test this fall. It seems like a long time, but I’m going to be studying the summer for all these. I have gotten. a 770 on Math 2 (which is OK) but at least it’s competitive score and close to 800. Guys please help me out to create a more efficient study plan to reach my goal of close to 800 on these subject tests. As you can probably tell by my name, yes I will never give up until I reach these goals but I need guidance and tips. Help me please!!
I would hardly call those failing (with the exception of perhaps the physics)
Remember the majority of colleges out there don’t even require subject tests. Most only require two at most. The key strategy here is to pick two that you are strong/comfortable at and DON’T CRAM. Start studying earlier and I believe you do have the potential to do well
Usually they require a math and science one. Chemistry and Math2 scores you have should be fine. No need to bother retaking Bio and Physics. Why did you take them without studying? If you want retake Math and Chem in the fall, but I don’t think it’s necessary.
@mommdc OP Doesn’t need to retake Math 2, 770 is a terrific score and it’s good enough. Doesn’t all have to be perfect, especially given that it’s Math 2. Chemistry is optional 720 is OK but if OP is looking for top schools maybe 30-40 points might help (wouldn’t affect you to much anyways). Physics and Biology is a certain re-do even though I’ve heard of people getting in with 660’s, better safe than sorry. Plus taking more SAT scores might help OP in admissions process.
