So I applied to fifteen schools.. and I sent my FAFSA to 8 of those schools last week. Today, I log on the FAFSA and click on "add/delete school codes" to add my other ones.

Since I had 8 currently on my list, I just added two without deleting any and submitted. I went back to delete some and add the rest, but it won't let me because the transaction is being processed.

How long does it take for it to be processed, will I be able to send my forms to the rest of my schools before the deadline?

HELp!!!!!

When you check on your SAR (#3 on the FAFSA home page, last option on the lower right) you will see that your Transaction #1 shows the date it was originally submitted, and that info will be available to ALL school whose codes you eventually add, so that they will ALL know that you did it last week. That’s my understanding of how it works.

Every time you do anything to it (maybe not adding school codes, but anything else) it locks for 2-3 days while “processing.” So go have a celebration cupcake for doing it, and check it in a day or 2.

You will have several “Transactions” (submissions) listed, one for each time you change something. Each will be numbered on the left and that number is your hot link to click thru to the actual SAR info.

but the deadline for the UC’s is tomorrow…

And I am letting you know that those schools, WHEN they get around to looking for and looking at your FAFSA, will SEE that you did submit it by the deadline. They do not start doing every last financial aid package for every student the day of the deadline. They have probably already done them for some students that did it earlier, and when they get to yours they will SEE that you got it in on time.

If you are really concerned you can call them and ask, tell them when specifically you submitted the FAFSA for the first time–but the more they answer the phone the less FA packaging they can do. But you can call–it’s a free country!

I think the OP is telling us that she has not yet SUBMITTED to the UCs because she didn’t delete schools when she needed to add the other schools. She only submitted to 10 places altogether…still has 5 more to submit.

OP…call the schools. In the meantime, others are right…you cannot resubmit until this first batch has processed.

Did you do estimates in January with all 15 schools? If so, you have met the deadlines.

Yeah, I just called up FAFSA and they added those codes for me. Thanks to all those who replied though :)
