Hi, I'm a transfer student and I'm told I have a really good chance of getting accepted into USC because of my background (achievements, etc plus good grades). Problem is I'm a new U.S. resident (so I am eligible for Financial Aid and scholarships) and though I'm transferring from SMC, there's a lot I didn't understand about the application process here as I'm still relatively new to the country. I thought applying for all that was done after acceptance and by the time I realized my blunder it was too late to apply. Question is, should I get accepted, how do I go about affording the fees (at least for the first semester or year) if I have no financial aid or scholarships and the deadlines passed for application? Can the financial aid office still work with me somehow? Is there any other way of getting funds? Please help me guys. I'm freaking out.

Submit your FAFSA, CSS/Profile and tax return copies as soon as possible. Do not delay, and you may be awarded aid depending on your financial circumstances.

@alememom, I did that already. Thank you so much! U give me hope!

Officially, USC does not guarantee to meet need for late applicants but anecdotally, I can tell you that I have corresponded with late financial aid applicants who were awarded aid sufficient that they could attend USC.

So yes, you have reason to hope. Good luck, and let me know how it turns out so I can offer useful information to future applicants who find themselves in your position.

I will do! Thank you.
