Help! I need help!

Okay, so I am working on my application and all I have to do is have my professors write the letters of recommendation. However, in one of my classes that I did really well in, my professor somewhat knows me because the class was so big and suggested I instead ask my TA to write a letter of recommendation because he knows my work better. Is getting a letter of recommendation from a TA okay?

Also, I wanted to ask my language teacher for a recommendation because he knew me very personally. However, he said he is an adjunct instructor and not a full-time professor. He said that he would write me a fantastic letter if there is no problem however. Would that be okay?

So...letters from a TA and an adjunct instructor...is that okay?

In general yes, both are fine (read the CA instructions on the IE form).

That said, there are some schools that want only prof LORs. This can usually be overcome by the prof ‘signing off’ on a LOR the TA has written.

So I suggest you look at the college websites and see if they have any specific requirements. If not, your TA and adjunct will be fine.

Thank you for your response. By the way, what is the IE form?

IE form = Instructor Evaluation form
