Hey,
For all of you guys with both the IB and AP programs in your schools, I was just wondering...do you guys take one or the other or both???
My school has newly established the IB program (we also have the AP program which was established previously), and people don't seem to trust it yet...
so they take the IB courses, study for AP, and take both exams...
Is that necessary?? Will colleges look at the scores and think that a student is more capable if he/she gets great marks on both over students who took only one of the two???

Many colleges are more generous with AP credit than with IB. That's why many people take IB, but also take AP exams.

It's not really necessary to to take both, unless the colleges you are looking at accept more AP tests than IB.

Both AP and IB programs are considered about equally rigorus, but that is hottly debated here on CC :D

That's the main point. Colleges evaluate programs high school by high school, not just by their national brand names. If you're in an IB program, self-studying to take AP exams is a good tip.
