Help! Ib Questions!

1) do adcoms only look at predicted grades offered by the school in your first ib year as your academic results at school?
2) If yes, then what is the use of the REAL ib score?
3) What range of scores do I have to get to get into Brown?
4) Do adcoms require ib students to state their ranking at school?
5) What ib schools are top in uk and us?
6) Is GCSE/ MYP or school exams results of any importance?

YAY a fellow IB-er applying to Brown! Best of luck!

1) I don't think they look at ONLY your predicted scores; your GPA and transcript are still important. Also, they probably also look at any IB test you've already taken.
2) It doesn't do much, really. Except for getting college credit. But after you've put in 7 semesters of hard work toward the IB diploma, what's the use of giving up? Might as well hang in there and see how well you can do. Similar to taking AP tests at the end of senior year, I suppose.
3) This summer, Brown's adcom said something like mid-30's or above
4) Why not? I don't see why being an IB student somehow exempts you from being counted in class rank along with everybody else.
5) No idea
6) I don't think so; pre-high school scores don't count toward the diploma.

haha... I'm not even applying/going to Brown (Dartmouth '11) but I have to say WOOT to fellow IBers...

Incidentally, to brumaire... I think that MYP is not actually pre-high school, as our MYP also includes 9th and 10th graders. (? I think? Haha can't be bothered to find out)
