HELP! I'm retaking classes @ cc that I passed on the ap test, does this look bad??

Hello Everyone !

I’m a California community college student who passed both the ap world history test (3) and ap us test (5). I am applying to UCLA as a history major so I have to take these courses again because ap scores can not take the place of the history major prerequisites.

However, I am also applying to UC Berkeley as a rhetoric major, which is a major without prerequisites. Is UC Berkeley going to discriminate against me for retaking these courses in which I already passed the ap test? I’m considering not sending in my ap test scores because of this.

Thank You for the help!

I met with a UCSD counselor with some other students and this question was brought up.
If I understand right, at least for UCSD, the class you are taking will just be wiped and replaced with your AP score.

It could be similar for UCB, or I could be totally wrong!

I believe they choose the one that helps you the most. So if you got As, I think they would take those and wipe out AP. If you got B-, they might take the AP. Either way, they will not look down on it as they always prefer a course over AP.
