HELP!! I'm test Saturday 6/11/16

I originally scored a 22 on the ACT, and this was with extremely little preparation… After taking about 3 practice tests and reviewing the answers I am projecting another 22 on Saturday, maybe even lower than a 22 as some of my practice scores did not reach a 22… I’m not sure what to do at this point… I have 4 days left to cram, what do I do?!? My largest problem is timing with the reading test . I can only get through around 2 passages, and I have practice and practice and practiced with strict time constraints . I am third in my class!! I can’t have such a low test score!!! I need a mid to upper 20 test score to get into the college I would like to attend !

Honestly, at this point, I don’t know if it’s possible to improve your reading by that much; I would just look at some tips from Prepscholar and then move on and focus on other subjects (maybe learn some grammar rules for English, or refresh your memory on some formulas for the Math section).

But if you still are really adamant about fixing that Reading score, I don’t know if this would work for you, but maybe with Reading, start reading two paragraphs at a time and then answer all of the questions associated with those paragraphs, then move on to the next two, answer the corresponding questions, and so on. Hopefully this will save some time as you won’t have to read the entire passage, forget a lot of information, then have to waste time searching for it (I ran out of time on Reading as well when I took the ACT because of this). Best of luck to you.

Try reading the first sentence of each paragraph before going right to the questions. Save the questions about the entire passage for last (they’re usually the first questions so they can take up your time) and go right to the “In line 36” questions. Then go for the ones that require you to find specific information in the passage. Basically, try to do the questions from most specific to the most general (the ones about the entire passage), because then you’ll have a better feel for the passage to answer the general questions. Hope that helps! Good luck tomorrow!
