I just took a practice test and i got a 30 on the reading section =[
my strategy is really tradtional -----> reading the whole passage then answer the questions.Actually,i found out that if i had a little more time,I could get at least a 34.But time is really my biggest problem~~~~~~

Do you think I need to change my strategy?or just keep practicing?

Hah, you epitomize my entire reading scenario. I read the passage first too, and I always score around 30ish. I think practice makes perfect, so i would just keep taking them. And stick with your strategy because changing it will only lower your score. Having a 30 in reading isn’t horrible, and it’s a couple questions away from a way higher score. Just practice i guess…that’s what i’ m doing

Improve your WPM! That’s what I am trying to do. Also, you should retake previous tests to see if you really understood the reason you got some of the questions wrong.

I need help with reading also, I got a 25 then 29 on reading… but I still need to improve (A 31 composite). What is the best book to help review Reading in particular?

I really believe that looking through review books would help. If you read though on the side a lot and read things like Time Magazine, it would be just as beneficial because you improve your comprehension and reading speed.

^^amaster, that is what I’ve been doing. I figure the best thing to do is to actually read… It’s strange though, because I find AP English questions easier…

When you read, read as fast as you can but also read so that you read every single word.
Read at a pace so that your mind can process the information and make a whole picture out of the passage. It usually takes me 3-4 minutes to read a passage without leaving out much details and when I answer the questions it’s much easier. However, read the questions carefully because they can, many times, differ you score from a 30 to 35.

Prose to me is the hardest. Sometimes the wording is weird and the whole passage isn’t straightforward so it takes me a long time to decipher what it’s saying.
I like the other 3 sections because they are straightforward and most of the questions require you to remember or look for certain phrases in the passage to get right.
