I seriously need help with the ACT Reading my scores are still in the tens the lowest i scored was a 14 and the the highest was a 17 can someone please help me??

For me, the fiction passage was the easiest. So I did it last. Science was the hardest so I did it first. By following this strategy my score has increased from a 27 to a 33.

Well my strategy is to read the whole passage quickly and underline anything that seems important (names, places, numbers). Also take A BUNCH of practice tests to get your timing down. Time management is critical in reading and science. Good luck!

Thanks guys ill try all and see which one best works for me :)

If your scores are in the teens, you need to read more with your spare time, work on your reading comprehension, and reading speed. Scores in the 14-17 range indicate that you are getting slightly under 50% of the questions right. Also go with your first choice, don’t second guess yourself; that’ll waste time, and generally your first choice is the one that is correct. (at least for me)

I also find the reading section really difficult. My biggest problem is trying to read all the passages and feeling crammed for time, which I think is also what you’re struggling with. What has worked for me is to do 3/4 passages and just guess on all the questions on the last passage in the last minute or two. By working on the three, I can put all my focus into them and do well on them, then I can just leave it up to probability to get me some more right out of ten that I’ll guess B or C on. Try this out. I’m sure you can raise your score from a 14 or a 17 to the 20s, high 20s or even the 30s with lots of practice! Good Luck!

Thanks guys I’ve been reading on my spare time and its been helping a lot

Thanks for your help :)
