Hi everyone, I’m finishing up my junior year and am heavily thinking about colleges. My question for you guys, is where would you apply if you were me, and how good do you think my chances are? Thank you so much! :-*

Taking classes at a local college over the summer, History of the U.S. and English 1A. My senior year classes will be English 4, Econ. and Gov, and Calculus. My school does not offer AP classes. I will have around 200 hours of community service, as well as an internship with a law office this fall. My intended major is Political Science. I cheered varsity all 4 years of highschool. I will also be taking college courses in the coming fall and spring, I attend a small charter school in California. Thanks!
Do you want to stay in CA? How much can you and your family afford?
Yes, I definitely would like to stay in-state and as far as cost goes it’s not really an issue.
Nor Cal AND So Cal? Do you know what you want to study? Assuming that is your UC GPA, I would include UCR and maybe UC Santa Cruz, LMU, Whittier, Pacific Univ, Univ of Redlands, Chapman, and your regional CSU. If you want a residential CSU, Sonoma State and Chico. Can’tr hurt to try Santa Clara. There are several somewhat religious schools, like St. Mary’s and some VERY religious schools like Biola.
Have you seen this California Colleges website?

Solid list above, I’d add SDSU, UCM and CSU LB.
Tell us more of what you are looking for and we can help narrow it down.
If you plan to pursue Political science, consider Sac State due to its proximity to the State Capital. This school would be a good safety.
I would really prefer a public school(UC/CSU), and I don’t mind where in California I am. Do you think I have a shot at Cal Poly SLO? Thanks!
Sac State is a California public Cal state. Cal poly SLO would be a slight reach with your GPA and SAT score. You might consider applying ED for better chances but only if it is your #1 choice.
