Help!! In-state tuition vs. OOS, private vs. public...ROI?

Thank you for this data - great outline!

We have not done overnights or classes, just accepted student days.

Does he have APs or credits from college classes taken during HS? If he does, Bing will take all of them. I know folks who have entered Bing as a “freshman” who already technically had enough credits to be a sophomore. That saves you money, leaving you more funds for things like a semester abroad. Lots of the big NYC accounting / finance companies recruit at Binghamton. Do you have other kids coming up behind your S for college? That should also be taken into account.

All good choices, but for financial & recruiting purposes I’d pick Bing. Let us know what he decides.

3 ap classes so I doubt that’s enough to gain a semester, but I appreciate that insight, and yes, daughter is h.s. freshman and will be going off to school in three years so that’s a big consideration.

At this point, do YOU have a preference?
Does HE have a preference?

How much debt to go to the other 2? It really helps the discussion/advice.

What level of debt are you considering? Where would the money come from? Is he in at Smeal or just PSU in general? I have heard that PSU has a wide alumni network that could be valuable, but not for substantial debt.

@Eeyore123 what does that mean?
