Help, I'm an International student and I want to go in Washington University or Georgetown.

My GPA's aren't the best but I'm confident that I'll be getting a high score in SAT (2200-2300) and TOEFL (at least 100/110)

Is Georgetown and Washington U. a big dream? Where do you think I can apply?

What’s your unweighted GPA or your own countries equivalent?

Have you done the PSAT or other practice test to predict such a high SAT score?

Are you and your family able to pay or will you need some/total financial aid?

Hey highland_poppy! Thanks for replying
Unweighted GPA is like 86-88 (that’s a 3.0-3.3, I think?)
I get like 1500 in just Reading and Writing and I’m really trying to ace the math section but the lowest I got was in a line of 5
I’m still looking for a scholarship so yeah, I’m gonna need at least some financial aid

?? the maximum score is 800 in each section, so you could not score more than 1600 in Reading and Writing ?? And what do you mean by Math 5 scores? Do yo mean 500?

Where do you fall in your school gpawise. Top 50%, Top25% or top 10%?

Average students usually don’t get into Georgetown. Do you mean Wash U in St. Louis? That one likes very high SAT scores, as well as gpa.

@BrownParent thanks for replying!
sorry, I double checked, its around 1500 in just R&W (can’t find the exact score)
by a line of 5 I meant 500+
Our school doesn’t really reveal that but I’m sure I fall maybe in the top 50%- I’ll check it out later maybe with the counselor
I really want to go in International Relations and I want to go in a college with a good reputation for the course- do you have any suggestions for me then?

Try University of Washington or any University of California campus. I assume that you are from Korea and these schools are very respected in Asia. University of Washington in particular is very well respected in this field of study.

@OsakaDad thank you! I will consider that and I just read about the school. Yes, I am from Korea- do you think I would have a chance? Thank you for your reply!

Since the OP needs financial aid, the UCs will be unaffordable.

How much can your family afford to pay each year?

Needing a lot of financial aid or scholarships as an international student will severely limit your affordable options.
