help!is it fine if i send the SAT1 scores in november and SAT2 scores in january?!

i'll send the SAT1 scores when i finish the november test.
i am applying for an engineering major+business major.so which subject tests should i take?
i 'guess' i'll have to take math1+2,chem and physics.
CB doesn't allow more than 3 subject tests/day.so i'll have to give the remaining ones in JAN,apart from the ones i give in DEC, IF these are the only ones i need to take!
thanks in advance =)

I think the majority of school want SAT IIs in December or early January. You could take the October SAT though!

thanks for the suggestion.
but are those the 4 tests i need to take for the major that i stated?
please mention the others i need to take,if any.
thanks.

I don’t think you need to take Both Math levels. Just take level 2, many colleges discount 1 anyway and I’ve never heard of a college desiring more than 3 subject tests (most only 2). I don’t know much about engineering, but those seem to be the correct tests!

thanks.if i apply around the end of december, will it be considered late?

Check their websites. Most list the last test date that they accept under the standardized testing section of their application instruction.

Generally speaking, January is too late.

First, I do not know of any college that lets you apply both as an engineering major and a business major; it is usually one or the other so you likely will have to choose one when applying. Second. you have to check with colleges to determine if they accept Jan tests; many do but many don’t and those that do usually want you to designate the college as a free send in the application for the Jan SAT test so scores are sent as soon as they are determined. Third, no college requires more than two SAT IIs (a couple, Georgetown and Johns Hopkins, recommend but do not require 3) and for engineering many of those require a math and a science and some of those require the math to be math 2. Thus, if you are considering engineering taking math 2 and one science (chem or phys) would be the ideal way to go because that combination would also meet the requirement for any business college (the only recommendations that may exist for any business college is that one of your SATs should be a math). If you are applying to Johns Hopkins you may also consider taking a second science SAT (you are obviously not applying to Georgetown if you are applying for engineering since it does not have any engineering). Fourth, you can thus complete all testing needed by the Dec test date since you can take up to 3 subject tests on a single date.

i will complete all SATs by the first week of december(the subject tests in december).
i will apply as soon as i get the scores OR should/can i apply when i get the SAT scores in october and then send the subject scores in DEC?

also,is it possible to send both SAT and ACT scores?
i scheduled the ACT on 22nd December after i finish the SATs.

is it possible to send both/will they consider both scores?

thanks.

can anyone help on the above question?

There is no ACT on December 22. It is on Dec 10. Almost all colleges take through the Dec ACT test sent regular delivery – it can arrive after application deadline. However, there are a small number with early Jan application deadline dates that want test scores and everything else needed in their hands by the application deadline (those that do make that clear on their websites) and that makes getting the ACT to those colleges potentially questionable although it may arrive on time if you designate college as a free send on the application for the tests.

You can send both ACT and SAT. As to use of ACT if you also send SAT, colleges use that particular test they believe has the better score in determining admission. An exception to that is Rose-Hulman which actually superscores the combination of tests. It uses only math and English section of ACT and math and critical reading section of SAT and for admission uses the section subscores that are higher from either, e.g., you could have a score considered for admission that is the math ACT score and the CR SAT score.

As to applying, you can always apply before sending scores and send any scores later (as long as they are not sent too late to be considered for admission).

yea its on 10th Dec. i mixed it up with the ACT on 22nd Oct lol.
for the universities which have Dec deadline,i think i will get the SAT2 scores by the last week of Dec.(sat2 is on dec5 for me).
do you mean i won’t get the ACT scores even by the end of December?

SAT scores are usually out before Christmas and if you designate college as a free send in test application it will most likely receive score before Jan 1. ACT scores are usually released right toward end of Dec and problem is that the initial release often does not include the writing score which can take up to another week or so into Jan. Again, for almost all colleges that will make no difference since they accept ACT scores from Dec even if they arrive sometime in Jan. (Note, if you are applying to a college that requires SAT subject tests then it is not one of those which require all scores in their hands by Jan 1 or 2)
